AMENITIES & SERVICES
|
|
What to expect: Catering to both corporate and leisure travelers, this gracious, entirely non-smoking hotel sits on one of the most prominent corners in the heart of the trendy La Jolla Village. The hotel presents an early 1900s ambience, which is infused with a complete renovation. Guestrooms are contained in the four-story original 1913 building, or the adjoining five-story main hotel (1928). Amenity highlights: The elegant, antique-filled and marble-clad lobby contains slip-covered and leather club chairs, a marble fireplace, and French doors that lead to an ocean-view terrace and the garden pool below. The highly rated, and locally popular, Nine-Ten restaurant off the lobby features changing menus of contemporary cuisine, wines by the glass and other libations, and sidewalk dining. The Nine-Ten also provides room service. Insider tip: Nine-Ten’s award-winning, market-fresh cuisine has made this restaurant a favorite San Diego haunt. The staff make daily trips to local vendors to find the freshest ingredients. Cooking classes (at an extra charge) enable hotel guests and locals to accompany the chef to the market and then return to the kitchen to help prepare meals.
